1. Find your hero with noble ideals and ideas. The stories of Washington, Lincoln, and Roosevelt are the stories of young boys who read about great leaders and who grew up wanting to be like them.

2. Take a stand for something larger than yourself. Becoming a great leader starts with linking your personal ambitions to public (organization) ambitions. For example: changing the world with the personal computer.

3. Lead through the power of your words. JFK was only president for 1000 days and did not achieve greatly, yet his words still inspire millions to find their greatness. Use the power of words to mobilize people around an ennobling purpose, moonshot goals, and priorities worth sacrificing for.
